Jams Jellies, The Landing Eastham, The Brewster Store Cape Cod

Cape Cod had wonderful light this week and the painting was good. I did three large 16x20's and a few small still lifes. Very cool to run into a fellow painter from the Cape Chris Gillis and looking forward to doing some painting with him this summer.

'' View of the Monarch's '' Oil 16x20

A picture perfect day on Cape Cod brought me some good fortune in the shape of this painting. I have been pushing to lean in a new direction and with this image I feel I broke through. Excited to see where I take this.

6x8 sketch oil.

Just sitting in my backyard yesterday I worked on this oil sketch. Simple and in the tradition of Hawthorne , one spot of color next to the other.

A Donated painting for St.Lukes Hosp.Cancer Center

I was asked recently by a close friend to donate a painting

that will be auctioned off for the Cancer center. I love being involved

in these auctions and this was the image I created. It is done in acrylic and I

titled it The River to the Sea which reminds me of a poem by Emily Dickinson that I

inscribed on the back.

My fruits of my labor for today, Very pleased with this image. I saw this spot many times and decided it would look best with strong morning light and raking shadows.

Thank you Mr. Hopper

A subject that I should almost be afraid to paint, Edward Hopper stood in this very spot

and I am afraid to say that lol. But for me my relationship with art history is just that, standing in the footsteps of those before me but bathed in my own light. This is how I see it, like it or not.

Route 6A Truro Ma. Acrylic on Board

I love the way Acrylic paint lets you work direct. Color stays

fresh and the build up of texture is very unlike Oil, my first love.

My first painting today went really well. This is what I'm after with this series

of paintings, loose determined brush strokes and rich color. I did not have the sun for long

but was able to establish the light when it came.
