Flag Barn 16x20 oil on MDF painted in Pawling NY June 13th 2009. i found this humble little scene and was inspired to make this image . The light was overcast but i became obsessed with all of the shadows and patterns of the leaves .
I set my easel up and was about to begin the image when a gun shot went off, a little unsettling for a new yorker lol...but i didn't let that stop me. I called the piece Flag Barn because of the flag that the owner painted on the side of the barn. I later met him and he was really nice, he told me that he had been wanting to paint the flag for years and finally did it. It was really well done and had a ton of character.
